Paediatric dentistry

Our specialist, Christina Tatsi has over 7 years experience in the dental care of children. She is a member of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry and takes an active interest in the research and development of evidence based dentistry for children.

Christina is happy to accept referrals of children who need help with anxiety and behaviour management, including the use of Inhalation Sedation (IS) when necessary; management of caries in the primary dentition, including pulp therapy and pre-formed crowns; management of trauma, particularly immature incisors; Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation, other developmental anomalies and hypodontia.

Why you should refer

Young patients can prove challenging to treat, especially if they are pre-cooperative or have special medical or dental problems. Children often require particular expertise, as well as patience, so that they can receive comprehensive oral health care. Some dentists do not have the necessary time or experience to deal with children with specific conditions or those who present with complex needs.

Christina will manage your patients through any necessary treatment including onward referral for treatment under general anaesthesia if required. They will then return to your continuing care with a targeted preventive programme. If you prefer, ongoing maintenance can be arranged. She can be contacted for advice about a particular case at the overleaf address by telephone or e-mail.

Referral treatments include:

  • Help with behaviour & anxiety, including IS, for dental procedures or orthodontic extractions
  • Management of caries in the primary dentition
  • Management of trauma, in particular to immature incisors
